AMENDMENT NO. 1 <br />TO AGREEMENT FOR SOCIAL SERVICES <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF EVERETT <br />AND EVERETT LAW ASSOCIATION <br /> <br /> This Amendment No. 1 to Agreement for Social Services (this “Amendment”) is <br />dated for as of the date of last signature below. It is by and between the City of Everett, a <br />municipal corporation under the laws of the State of Washington (“City”) and Everett <br />Law Association (“Public Defender”). <br /> <br />RECITALS <br /> <br /> A. The City and Public Defender are parties to the Agreement for Social <br />Services dated November 29, 2021 (the “Social Services Agreement”). All capitalized <br />terms in this Amendment are as defined in the Social Services Agreement. Under the <br />Social Services Agreement, the City provides funds for Social Services to the Public <br />Defender from the Grant Agreement. The Grant Agreement is between the City and the <br />Washington State Office of Public Defense (“OPD”). <br /> <br /> B. The City and OPD are entering into an amendment to the Grant <br />Agreement, which is attached hereto (the “Grant Amendment”), which will add <br />$10,888.98 to the Grant Agreement for additional training funds. The purpose of this <br />Amendment is to update the Social Services Agreement for the Grant Amendment. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT <br /> <br />The City and Public Defender agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. As part of the Social Services, Public Defender will use the funds from the Grant <br />Amendment for training as required by the Grant Agreement. Public Defender <br />will submit invoice(s) for Grant Amendment funds at time(s) mutually agreed by <br />Public Defender and the City. <br /> <br />2. All provisions in the Social Services Agreement shall remain in effect except as <br />expressly modified by this Amendment. This Amendment may be signed in ink <br />or electronically, and any faxed, scanned, photocopied, or similarly reproduced <br />signature on this Amendment will be deemed an original signature and will be <br />fully enforceable as if an original signature. <br /> <br />[signature page follows] <br />
