Grant funds will support the creation of a new mental health co -responder team. This team will consist of four mental health
professionals, who will primarily assist our City's Fire and Library departments when they encounter someone experiencing a mental health issue that
doesn't require a medical response. Our desired outcomes are to provide appropriate, quality care for people in a mental health crisis, while also
reducing the number of calls to our first responders when police or medical assistance isn't needed.
AWC grant funds support the planning phase of this program, including program development, recruiting and training new staff, and procuring or
developing case management software. This amendment appropriates grant revenues in the amount of $183,000. Associated maintenance and
operations expenditures in the amount of $137,000 is included in NGA-11.
Increase ending fund balance - General Fund
Increase transfers in to General Fund from Fund 155-General Govt.
