r r i.. f ORDINANCE No. , AN ORDINANCE levying the general taxes of the City of vere tt fo r the fi s cal ye ar comnen c ing Tanua ry 1, 1941, on all taxable property, both real and personal , in said City subject to taxation thereon, for the purpose of raising sufficient revenue to carry on the different departments of said city for the ensuing year, as required by the Charter of said City and the laws of the State of Washington, pr•escri ding and apportioning the sane to the different funds of said city for said fiscal year, and providing for the collection thereof . Warr .EAS, on the llth day of September , 1940 , the City Council of the City of Lverett did duly and regularly aidopt the estimate of the amounts required to meet the public expense of said city for the ensuing year, and the amount to be raised by taxation in said city for said ensuing year from sources other than direction taxation; and 1THEREAS, notice that said City Council tentatively completed the budget for the City of Lverett for the year 1941 and that a copy of said budget would be furnished any taxpayer of the City of Everett on application therefor , and that the City Council of said City would meet in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at 10:00 o 'clock A. M. , on the 7th day of October, 1940 , for the purpose of fixing the final budget and designating the tax levy and that any taxpayer might appear thereat and be heard for or against any gd rt of said budget , was published in the official newspaper in allrespects as required by law; and 1,1EB REAS, the City Council did on the 7th day of October, 1940 , meet in the Council Chamber for said purpose and did from day to day continue the hearing on said budget to the 10th day of October , 1940, for the purpose aforesaid, and having heard all persons appearing: in favor of or against any proposed tax levy, did then and there make and decide the amount of taxes to be placed upon the current assess=t roll to be in the sum of 4'298,887.77. OW, THEREFORE, the City of Lverett DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That there be and hereby is levied upon any real and personal property in the City of Everett , subject to taxation thereon, a general property tax for municipal purposes for the ensuing year commencing January 1, 1941, in the sum of 'r298,887 .77 .
