• " - <br /> ORDINJ ITC E No. <br /> 2874:7 )-- <br /> IN ( _DIN!,,UCE regulating the establishment and mainten- <br /> ance of certain businesses and occupations within the City of <br /> Everett , providing for the issuance of permits therefor , and <br /> providing penalties for the violatinn of the provisions of this <br /> ordinance . <br /> T'HL+'REPS, the establishment and maintenance of wood <br /> yards, oil and gasoline storage tanks, lumber yards, dance halls, <br /> junk yards, laundries, slaughter houses, dye works, auto wrecking <br /> yards and veterinary hospitals within the residential district <br /> end certain parts of business districts of the City of -_Everett, <br /> may be detrimental to the public health , welfare and convenience. <br /> NOY, THEREFORE, <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1 : Permits reruired.: It shall be unlawful <br /> for any person, firm or corporation to hereafter establish or <br /> maintain within the City of Everett any wood yards, oil and gaso- <br /> line storage tanks , lumber yards, dance halls , junk yards, <br /> laundries, slaughter houses, dye works, auto wrecking yards, <br /> undertaking establishments, and veterinary hospitals without <br /> first having obtained a Permit for the establishment and main- <br /> tenance of such business or occupation as herein provided. <br /> Section 2: bDplications for permits: Ylny person <br /> desiring to establish and/or maintain any of the businesses or <br /> occupations, specified in Section 1 , shall file an almlication <br /> in writing with the 3uilding Inspector. Such application shall <br /> set forth the name of the ap, licant, shall designate the trade <br /> or business desired to be conducted and shall give the legal <br /> description of the premises et which such business is to be <br /> conducted . Such application shall be referred by the 3uilding <br /> Inspector to the City Council at its next regular meeting follow- <br /> ing the filing of such application. <br /> Section 3: The City Council shall fix a time <br /> for the hearing upon such application which shall be at a regular <br /> meeting of the City Council, not less then one week nor more than <br /> two weeks after such ap licetion has been presented to the City <br /> Council. Any interested person nay appear and be heard at said <br /> hearing or may file a written protest against the granting of <br /> such permit. The City Council after said hearing shall grant <br /> such permit if it finds that such business or trade conducted <br /> at the place designated in said application shall not be <br /> detrimental to the public health and welfare. If it finds such <br /> business to be conducted at said place will be detrimental to <br /> the public health and welfare , such permit shall be denied. <br />
