Faster burning <br /> compositions may reach detonation levels dependent upon composition, packaged configuration <br /> and/or containment. <br /> Means of Extinguishment; <br /> Pyrotechnics are self-oxidized and cannot be extinguished with normal means. Do not fight fires <br /> involving the devices. Incipient fires may be fought. Do not use suffocation methods, clear area <br /> of personnel! <br /> SECTION VI: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES <br /> Containment Procedures; <br /> Devices may be gently picked up and re-packaged in original packaging or equivalent. In case <br /> pyrotechnic composition is spilled: Keep away from any possible ignition sources such as open <br /> flames, sparks and non-rated electrical devices. Prevent possible electrostatic discharges (for <br /> example: do not use a synthetic dustpan and brush). <br /> Clean-Up Procedures; <br /> Packaged devices can be picked up gently. For spilled material, which may be released <br /> accidentally, flood area with water and use conductive or natural material utensils for pick-up. <br /> place into a closed conductive container for disposal. <br /> SECTION VII: HANDLING AND STORAGE <br /> Handling Procedures and equipment; <br /> All pyrotechnics should be handled with caution. Avoid open flames, smoking, friction, impact, <br /> excessive heat, electrostatic discharges, radio frequency interference and moisture, (humidity). <br /> Safety instructions included in packaging. In some cases, unpackaged or explosive/pyrotechnic <br /> materials packaged in other then original packaging may have to be handled as a higher hazard. <br /> i.e. 1.1 or 1.3 classification. <br /> Storage Requirements; <br /> Store in a cool, well ventilated, and dry area. Dependent upon application, separation distances <br /> and security measures are to be complied with. Storage compatibility should be maintained in <br /> accordance with Federal regulations. <br /> SECTION VIII: EXPOSURE CONTROL/PERSONAL PROTECTION <br /> Exposure Limits: ACGIH TLV=N/A OSHA PEL=N/A OTHER=N/A <br /> Engineering Controls; <br /> Devices need to be used in a ventilated area for removal of smoke. Some ingredients may have <br /> exposure controls.
