Note that the existing lunchroom cannot be classified as A-2 as it does not <br />appear to have two exits. Construction drawings prepared by a professional architect licensed <br />in the state of Washington are required when there is a change to the life -safety of the <br />building. The drawings should be sealed and signed by the architect -of -record. See IBC <br />Section 107.1 and RCW Section 18.08.410 Item (7). <br />Egress: <br />2. Conference Room 2 has been converted to an occupancy "A-2" classification. The following <br />comments should be addressed: <br />a. Two exits are required. A full plan should be provided for this room. An egress plan <br />showing two separate exit paths out of the building should be included. See IBC Table <br />1006.2.1. <br />b. Provide a maximum occupant load sign per IBC Section 1004.9. The location of the sign <br />should be specified adjacent to the main exit from the room. <br />c. The floor plan should specify exit signs. Intermediate exit signs should include direction <br />arrows where door signs are not readily visible. The lighting, including existing locations, <br />should specify a minimum 90-minute uninterrupted supply power per IBC Section 1013.6.3. <br />See IBC Section 1013.1. <br />d. Emergency means -of -egress illumination should be provided per IBC Section 1008.3. The <br />construction drawings shall include a reflected ceiling plan indicating egress lighting. The <br />lighting shall specify a minimum 90-minute uninterrupted supply power per IBC Section <br />1008.3.4. <br />e. The exterior landings providing egress should be provided with emergency lighting. The <br />lighting shall specify a minimum 90-minute uninterrupted supply power per IBC Section <br />1008.3.4. See IBC Sections 1008.3.2 Item 5 and 1010.1.6. <br />Accessibility: <br />3. Additional accessibility requirements should be specified on Sheet . See IBC Section 1102.1, <br />and references below to ICC A117.1-09 unless noted otherwise. The following comments <br />should be addressed: <br />a. Show water closet centerline dimension measured from the side wall per Section 604.2. <br />b. Show sink centerline dimension measured from the side wall per IBC Section 107.2.1. <br />c. Provide dimensions for the grab bars per Sections 604.5.1 and 604.5.2, and Figures 604.5.1 <br />and 604.5.2. Require blocking to support a minimum 250 LB load. <br />d. Provide water closet seat height dimension per Section 604.4. <br />e. Provide a vertical grab bar on the sidewall per Figure 604.5.1. <br />f. Provide sink pipe insulation per Section 606.6. <br />g. Locate the water closet flush control on the open side per Section 604.6. <br />h.
