The contractor shall provide self-propelled pickup <br /> 24 sweepers and/or vacuum pick up sweepers for pavement cleaning and debris removal <br /> 25 whenever their use is ordered by the Engineer. The type and number of sweepers are <br /> 26 subject to the approval of the Engineer. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Daily sweeping shall continue on all construction related roads at least once per day until <br /> 29 said surface is covered with new HMA. In the event the Contractor sweeper will not be <br /> 30 able to work daily on ground surfaces, the City Forces will provide services, and the <br /> 31 Contractor will be billed for each hour of operation. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 The following work shall not be paid by "Street Cleaning", it shall be included in the bid <br /> 34 item "Planing Bituminous Pavement" (2" Deep), per square yard: <br /> 35II <br /> 36 1. Sweepers following the grinding work. <br /> 37 2. Debris left in the road or on the side of the road from Planing Bituminous <br /> 38 Pavement. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 The Contractor shall plan the operation to minimize the need for street cleaning. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 2-08.4 Measurement <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Street cleaning will be measured by the hour for the actual time consumed in sweeping, I <br /> 45 pavement cleaning, and debris removal. No allowance will be made for time consumed <br /> 46 in making repairs to the equipment or for moving the equipment to or from the site on <br /> 47 which the street cleaning is ordered.
