ORDINANCE No. 2846 . AN ORDINANCE PIOVIDING far an additional emergency expenditure to cover deficiency in Fire Department salaries and to cover deficiency in the City Clerk's Office salaries and declaring an emergency. Tia CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That a public emergency exists and the amount of expenditure therefor could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the making of the budget for the year 1939 , to-wit: In October 1938. That said emergency has been caused by the fact that tUe extr work required in the City Clerk's Office by reason of registration of voters required additional help and the cost of said help was the sun of , 46 .45. Section 2: A public emergency exists and the amount of the expenditure therefor could not have been reason- ably foreseen at the time of making of the budget for the year 1939, to-wit: In October 1938. That said emergency has been caused by the fact that a member of the Fire Depart- ment during the year 1939 was reinstated by the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Relief and Pension Fund at a salary in excess of the amount of salary of the fireman replaced, in the sum of 46.87 . Section 3 : That there is hereby appropriated out of the General Expense Fund of Everett, not otherwise budgeted, for the purpose of paying the two items above mentioned, to-wit: a46.45 for the salary of employees in the City Clerk' s Office, and >46.87 for salaries in the Fire Department, which sums shall be paid by the issuance of emergency warrants drawn on the General Expense Fund of the Cit ' of Everett as provided by law.
