ORDINANCE NO. __________ An Ordinance creating a special construction project entitled “Main Library Building Envelope Improvement Project”, fund 342, program 040, to accumulate design costs for the project. WHEREAS, A.The City Council recognizes the need to assess the roof, windows and facades of the building where documented water intrusion exists. B.The City Council recognizes the need to prepare a comprehensive plan to repair roof, façade and window damage to preserve this historical community asset. C.The City Council recognizes the need to reseal the entire building following repairs to properly protect the exposed exterior surfaces from current and future damage. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. A special construction project is hereby established as Fund 342, Program 040, and shall be entitled “Main Library Building Envelope Improvement Project” to accumulate all costs for the project. Section 2. Authorization is hereby given to accumulate costs and distribute payments from Fund 342, Program 040 for the design, architectural and engineering fees for this project. Section 3. Authorization is hereby granted to the Parks and Facilities Director, under the direction of the Mayor, to assume full and complete responsibility for conducting all tasks and all necessary steps to accomplish the actions authorized in this ordinance. Section 4. The sum of $150,000.00 is hereby appropriated to Fund 342, Program 040, Main Library Building Envelope Improvement Project as follows: A.Use of Funds Design $150,000.00 Total $150,000.00 B.Source of Funds CIP (1) $150,000.00 Total $150,000.00 3959-23
