See
Se . .
structure on either side, per IBC 2015, Section 706.2. Fire wall resistance per IBC
2015, Table 706.4.
c. The wall is required to extend from the foundation and extend a minimum of 30
inches above the roof per Section 706.6, or the construction shall comply with
one of the exceptions. The response states that the roof has been detailed to
comply with Exception 4. However, Section 5/A5.02 does not specify the
required fire-retardant construction. Refer to notes on Detail 6/A5.02, specifying
materials to meet the tested assembly.
Accessibility:
4. This comment has not been completely addressed. The original comment is
provided below. Documentation was not submitted as stated in the original
comment. The building does not appear to be fully-accessible. The restrooms at
the east end of the building are not accessible. Accessible restrooms must be
located in the same area as non-accessible restrooms; accessible restrooms on the
opposite side of the building do not comply. Refer to Sheet A2.03 at Existing
Women-115; Old sink shall be replaced to allow additional clearance around the
water closet as per ANSI 2009. Please note the existing Mens meets the ANSI 2009
requirement.
Original comment: The project involves both Level 2 Alterations and an Addition to
the building per IEBC Chapters 8 and 11. Accessibility improvements per IEBC
Section 705.2 should be included in the project. Where the building is made to be
less than fully-accessible per one of the exceptions, documentation substantiating
the limited accessibility improvements should be submitted for review. Where
Exception 1 is used, the documentation should itemize the improvements and
estimated cost of work associated with each item. See IEBC Sections 806.1 and
1105.1.
5. This comment has not been completely addressed. The revised ramp design
appears generally compliant. The handrail height and extensions should be
dimensioned. The top outer rail should extend parallel to the ramp run; the
horizontal bend does not comply. See IBC Sections 1014.2 and 1014.6. Sheet
A2.03; Floor plan has been revised to reconfigure the ADA ramp flight. The new
configuration should avoid horizontal bend at end of ramp.
Structural: (Please refer to a separate enclosed documents with Response to Comment)
P P
-End-
