ORDINANCE No. 2796 . AI? ORDIN NCE providing for an emergency expenditure to cover cost of maintenance in the Uity Hall Department, salaries in the City Clerk' s Department , in the Miscellaneous Department and in the City Street Fund , and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF E\ RETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 : That a public emergency exists and that the amount of the expenditure therefor could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of making the budget for the year 1938, to-wit : In October 1937 . That said emergency has been caused by reason of the fact that the amount necessary for the payment of light bill in the City Hall Department is higher than estimated, and for said purpose an additional sum is required in the sum of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ( 250 .00) . That by reason of the holding of an additional election in the City of Everett in 1938 the cost of taking care of registration of voters in the City Clerk' s Office required additional help and required the aavnent of additional salaries in the sum oi. Thiee Hundred Dollars (.;--300 .00) , and the cost of holding an election on charter amendments during the year 1938 and additional cost of StateAuditor in the sum of Three Hundred Dollars (: 300.00 ) is required for the r: iscellaneou: Department . Section 2 : That there is hereby appropriated out of the General Current Expense Fund of Everett, not otherwise . budgeted, for the purpose of paying the expenses above referred to, to-wit : Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ( 250 .00) maintenance in the City Ball Department , ' free Hundred. Dollars (y300.00 ) salaries in the City Clerk' s Department and Three Hundred Dollars (: 300.00) maintenance in the :Miscellaneous Department , which sums shall be paid by the issuance of emergency warrants drawn on such General Current Expense Fund by the proper officers of the City of Everett as provided b law. Section 3: That a public emergency exists and the amount of expenditure therefor could not have been reason- ably foreseen at the time of making the budget for the year 1938, to-wit: in October 1937 . That said emergency has been caused by reason of the fact that it was found necessary to pay from the City Street Fund for the street fund share of paving Hewitt ',venue and Bond Street. 'Ile amount of money required to meet said emergency is Twelve Thousand Dollars ( 12,000.00) . Section 4: That there is hereby appropriated out of the City Street Expense Fund of Everett, not otherwise budgeted, for the purpose of paying the City Street Fund share of the paving of Hewitt Avenue and Bond Street said sum of Twelve Thousand Dollars (<'>12,000.00) , which sum shall be paid by the issuance of emergency warrants drawn upon said City Street Fund by the proper officers of the City of Everett as provided by law.
