Please review and respond to the comments <br /> below. <br /> Structural: <br /> 1) The project appears to involve structural modifications that do not comply with the prescriptive <br /> limitations of the IRC. Where a structural design is performed per Section R301.1.3, structural <br /> drawings and calculations should be prepared by a professional engineer licensed in the state of <br /> Washington; the drawings and calculations should bear the seal and signature of the <br /> engineer. See RCW Sections 18.43.010, 18.43.020, and 18.43.070. <br /> Architectural: <br /> 1) The project appears to include modifications to the stairs. Details for the construction should be <br /> included. The stringers should comply with the joist span tables considering the net depth after <br /> notching for steps. The stair rise and run, and width, should be specified. Landings are required <br /> at the top and bottom. Include details for the guards. Handrails should be provided. Structural <br /> modifications may be required. See IRC Section R311.7. <br /> In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the Building <br /> Division with two new sets of revised construction documents reflecting the corrections requested. <br /> Please include a response letter which indicates how the corrections were resolved. <br /> These initial comments are general in nature and based on preliminary information.Additional <br /> comments will typically be generated once a complete submission is reviewed.
