Recommended foundation types(IBC Section 1803.6 Item 5). <br /> Ref: Page 10 <br /> b. Site class(IBC Sections 1613.3.2 and 1803.3) <br /> Ref: Page 7 <br /> c. Mapped short-period and one-second response acceleration parameters(IBC Section 1613.3.1). <br /> Ref: Supplemental Structural Calculations <br /> d. Design criteria for continuous and isolated foundations(IBC Sections 1803.6 Item 5). The criteria shall include, <br /> but are not limited to, minimum foundations sizes,allowable foundation bearing pressures including increases for <br /> short-duration loads if allowed,and required preparation of bearing soils(e.g., removal of incompetent soils, <br /> compaction of native soils, replacement of native soils with compacted structural fill, etc.). <br /> Ref: Pages 9, 10 <br /> e. Design criteria for deep foundations(IBC Sections 1803.5.5 and 1803.6 Item 5). <br /> Deep foundations not required at this site. <br /> f.Active earth,passive earth,hydrostatic,live surcharge(e.g., traffic),superimposed weight surcharge(e.g., <br /> building,soil), and seismic surcharge pressures, including factors of safety(IBC Sections 1610.1, 1803.5.12 Item <br /> 1807.1.1, 1807.2.2, and 1808.3.2). Note that while Section 14.0 addresses the seismic surcharge, the <br /> recommendation appears to provide a non-specific range of"8H to 11 H';the recommendation should be specific. <br /> We applied 35 pcf active pressure on the basement walls and used 1 H for seismic loads from <br /> Section 14. <br /> Architectural, Miscellaneous <br /> Response to these comments furnished by the Architect. <br /> Structural/General: <br /> Item 2 <br /> The structural notes on sheet S1.01 have been revised to include the geotechnical design parameters. <br /> Item 3 <br /> The structural notes on sheet S1.01 have been revised to update the deferred submittals. <br /> Page 2/S--- <br />
