GeoTest Services, Inc. October 8, 2021
2405 Hillside Lane, Everett,WA Project No. 21-0845
IMMO
Subsurface Soil Conditions
Subsurface conditions were explored by advancing 3 exploratory test pits on September 9, 2021.
The explorations were advanced to approximate depths of 10 to 12 feet below ground surface
(BGS) with a tracked excavator subcontracted by Fullwiler Construction. Inc. The approximate
locations of these explorations have been plotted on the Site and Exploration Plan (Figure 2A).
The exploratory test pits exhibited relatively similar subsurface soil conditions throughout the
vicinity of the proposed development. GeoTest observed between 0.5 and 3 feet of loose topsoil
and previously placed fill soils overlying native soils at depth. Fill was observed in TP-1 and TP-3,
whereas TP-2 had no signs of fill. The fill soils observed on-site were comprised of soft, brown-
gray, moist, sandy silt with few organics (regraded site materials)overlying relict topsoil. Cement
debris was encountered within the fill soils in TP-3. The near surface native soils directly
underlying the fill and relict topsoil were comprised mostly of medium stiff to stiff, brown, moist,
sandy silt, in which GeoTest interpreted to be Fraser to Pre Fraser Transitional Beds. The soils
became stiff to very stiff at approximately 7.5 feet BGS in TP-1, 4 feet BGS in TP-2, and 11.5 feet
BGS in TP-3.The stiff to very stiff soils were encountered to the maximum explored depth of the
test pits.
More detailed logs of the subsurface conditions encountered within our exploration are
presented in the Test Pit Logs attached to the end of this report.
►, 14114 . •1 i,, 'mow
Images 2 and 3.The vicinity of the two southern proposed houses on lots 2 and 3.
General Geologic Conditions
Geologic information for the project site was obtained from the Distribution and description of
geologic units in the Mukilteo quadrangle, Washington (Minard, 1982). According to this
publication, geology within the vicinity of the project site consists of Vashon Till (map unit Qvt)
and Transitional Beds(map unit Qtb) of the Frasier Glaciation event, as well as the older Whidbey
Formation (map unit Qw). The Transitional Beds typically consist of mostly clay, silt, and fine to
3
