Fdn Plan post sizes, connections and references: Some Posts were already called out on
S1 .2 and on Detail 10/A5.1. However add'l comments for clarity have been added.
2. Fdn ftgs to be provided for all loads and wall locations near stairs: A stair base ftg is
now added below the first tread to support the stair stringers. Also the outside stair
stringers are supported by partitions which have partition and floor line footings at 6 oc
to support the floor joists and walls above. The floor joists transfer all loads to the floor
bearing system and beams below.
3. Provide stair half wall/handrail detail: A rabbit cut in the bottom of the cripple studs of
the half wall will provide a "lockin" to the upper floor rim jst and direct support on the
partition below. The studs will tie to the joists and rim board and sufficiently resist a
50plf vertical load. Vertical loading will be transferred to the partition below and the
horizontal loading will dissipate into the floor diaphragm and jsts. 12d nails secure the
half wall to the blocking and rim joist.
A detail will be provided.
4. Fireplace floor Beam Calculation: A 4x10 DF#2 (default note was specified in plans) is
adequate. Additional Beam calculation was added to beam calcs.
5. Structural calculations for beams in Kitchen East ceiling: The beams have been
recalculated and a 5.5x12" GLB is sufficient for both the East and West Beams.
6. Dining Rm/Kit Beam update for East beam load: The Beam was reviewed and increased
to a 5.5x15" GLB after including the partition contribution and reaction from the East
Beam.
7. Updates to Structural Ca/cs for the Gar North/South Beam: The live roof loads have
been converted to snow loads which have a slightly different duration factor. The WIC
