11110 <br /> 5117 Seaview Way 7/2/2019 <br /> Observations related to Deck Repairs and or rebuild. <br /> I visited the site to observe the conditions and discuss the proposal with the current owner Mr.Thomas. <br /> The current owner stated that he specifically requested the prior owner to stop work on this deck due to <br /> quality concerns observed during construction, and prior to the closing of the sale of the property. <br /> 1. The plans being submitted are the original plans used by the previous owner to construct the deck as <br /> it currently exists. <br /> 2. The plans lack flashing specifications and are not well detailed. <br /> 3. The deck lacks sufficient flashing and weather resistant features. <br /> 4. Some railing connections are weak or insufficiently fastened. <br /> 5. Structurally,the deck appears sound and not unsafe. <br /> 6. Repairs to correct the observed deficiencies could occur without permits. <br /> 7. If removal and replacement of the deck is proposed,a permit is required to do so. <br /> Ted M. de Budden <br />
