a <br /> 1 . • <br /> ORDINANCE No.2765 <br /> AN OPDINANCE providing for an emergency expenditure <br /> to cover the cost of replacing water mains, together with <br /> necessary valves, service connectionsand other appurtenances <br /> in connection with the improvement of Bond Street and lower <br /> Hewitt Avenue under Ordinances No. 2759 and e. 2760 of the <br /> City of Everett, providing for the issuance of warrants therefor <br /> on the Water System Funds, and declaring an emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That a public emergency exists and the <br /> amount of expenditure therefor could not have been reasonably <br /> foreseen at the time of the making of the budget for the year <br /> 1938 , to-wit : In October 1937. That said emergency has been <br /> caused by reason of the fact that the City Council of the City <br /> of Everett , on the 12th day of January, 1938, passed Ordinances <br /> No. 2759 and lAo. 2760 of the City of Everett, providing for the <br /> improvement of Bond Street and lower Hewitt Avenue , and in <br /> connection with said improvement it is necessary to replace the <br /> present old eight inch main on lower Hewitt Avenue and Bond <br /> Street paving project with aupraximately 2,000 feet of twelve <br /> inch steel pipe and 1 ,000 feet of two inch galvanized pipe , to- <br /> gether with necessary valves, service connections and other <br /> appurtenances, this construction to be a dual main installation <br /> locating new mains under sidewalk area. The amount of money <br /> required to meet said emergency is Eleven Thousand Three Hundred <br /> Dollars (411,300.00) to pay for said work in connection with said <br /> water mains. <br /> Section 2: That there is hereby appropriated out <br /> of the Everett `,'eater System Fund, not otherwise budgeted, for <br /> the purpose of paying for said work in connection with said <br /> water mains the sum of Eleven Thousand Three Hundred Dollars <br /> 011 ,300.00) , which sum s hol l be paid by the issuance of warrants <br /> drawn on such Everett Water System Fund by the proper officers <br /> of the City of Everett as provided by law. <br /> Section 3: An erner ency is declared to exist and <br /> this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication. <br /> Mayor <br /> Attest : <br /> City Clerk <br /> Passed: February 15, 1938 <br /> Published:February 16 , 1938 . <br />
