<br /> An Ordinance regulating the erection, construction,
<br /> enlargement, alteration, repair , demolishing , conversion,
<br /> occupar y, equipment , use , height , area and maintenance of
<br /> buildings and/or structures in the City of Everett, providing
<br /> for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor,
<br /> providing for the adoption as the building code or ordinance
<br /> of the City of Everett of the uniform Building Code , 1937
<br /> edition, of the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference ,
<br /> providing penalties for the violation thereof, and repealing
<br /> Ordinance lyo• 2505 , and all other ordinances and parts of
<br /> ordinances in conflict herewithr and declaring arj emergency.
<br /> THE CITY OIL EVERETT DOES ORDAIN:
<br /> Section 1: The 1937 edition of the uniform Build-
<br /> ing Code , as prepared by the Pacific Coast Building Officials
<br /> Conference , otherwise known as the 1937 edition of the Pacific
<br /> Coast Conference uniform Building Code , together with all sub-
<br /> sequent editions or amendments of said Code , and relating to
<br /> the erection, 'construction, enlargement, alteration, repair ,
<br /> demolishing, conversion, occupancy, equipment , use, height ,
<br /> area and maintenance of buildings and/or structures in the City
<br /> of Eve rett, is hereby adopted as the building code or ordinance
<br /> of the City of Everett, (there being Three (3) copies of said
<br /> building code on file with the City Clerk of the City of Everett)
<br /> and such code by reference is hereby made a part of this
<br /> ordinance as though fully set forth herein, and the several
<br /> provisions of said code , as now in effect, and all amendments
<br /> thereto and sub-editions thereto and printed and filed with
<br /> the City Clerk of the City of Everett shall be considered and
<br /> accepted as amendments and additions to said code without the
<br /> necessity of further adoption of such amendments or additions
<br /> by the City of Everett , except that said code is amended as
<br /> to fees as provided in this ordinance.
<br /> Section 2: Any person desiring a building permit
<br /> for the construction, alteration or addition to any building
<br /> within the City oflverett shall , at the time of filing an
<br /> application therefor , as provided in said uniform Building
<br /> Code , referred to in Section 1 of this Ordinance, pay to the
<br /> City of Everett a fee as required in this section.
<br /> Par a valuation of One Thousand Dollars ( _ 1000.00)
<br /> or less, One Dollar (ed.00) .
<br /> An additional fee of One Dollar (:>1.00) for each
<br /> additional One Thousand Dollars (:';1000.00) or fraction thereof,
<br /> of total valuation; providing, however, that the maximum fee
<br /> for any such permit shall be Twenty-five Dollars (:J25.00) .
<br /> Permit shall be required for strictly maintenance or
<br /> repair work upon any building, the same as for other construction
<br /> work , but no fees shall be charged for the same.
<br /> The building inspector shall keep a permanent ,
<br /> accurate account of all fees collected and received under said
<br /> code and give the name of persons upon whose account the same
