The description of work under that permit <br /> mentions the carport, which differs from the original construction of the building, but <br /> other work noted does not appear consistent with changes to the west side of the <br /> building as discussed above. <br /> 2. The whole house ventilation method should be specified. The note currently lists all <br /> four options. <br /> 3. 1.5 energy credits are required for this project. <br /> 4. The house exhaust is located in the laundry room, which is separated from the <br /> remainder of the house by a door. Per our discussion, the house exhaust should be <br /> relocated to the mudroom. A local exhaust should remain in the laundry room. <br /> 5. Additional SD and CD should be shown for the existing bedrooms. <br /> 6. Attic and crawl space access openings are required. Per discussion, the crawl space <br /> access may be shown in the storage closet (Door 104) and the attic access may be <br /> shown in the mudroom. The attic access must continue through the common wall <br /> between the existing and new portions of the house. The crawl space access must <br /> continue through the pony walls; access to the old crawl space should be confirmed. <br /> 7. The pony walls should have openings to allow ventilation, particularly for the existing <br /> crawl space and middle one-third of the new building crawl space. <br /> 8. The structural notes should include a required in the truss notes for the EOR to review <br /> { and approve the truss prior to construction. The EOR should verify that the truss <br /> I ' design complies with the design requirements of the project. <br /> 9. The shear walls at the interior wall between the existing and new portions of the <br /> building, and the new east exterior wall, are not detailed. Specifically,the load path <br /> between the roof and walls is not detailed. It is presumed the either the wall framing <br /> g <br /> and sheathing continue to the roof sheathing, or the walls will be topped by trusses <br /> that are designed for in-plane load transfer. For the latter, design loads for the trusses <br /> should be stated in the drawings. In either case, a detail should be provided to inset <br /> into the drawings. For the truss option, the detail should specify connections between <br /> the truss bottom chords and wall top sill plates. <br /> 10. (Note -we did not discuss this item)The east exterior wall needs to be supported out- <br /> of-plane at the top sill plate if the wall framing is not continuous to the roof(i.e.,the <br /> wall is topped by a truss). Braces or another method must be used to resist out of <br /> plane loads. Where braces strut to the top chords of adjacent trusses, those trusses <br /> must be designed for additional vertical thrust loads; design loads should be specified <br /> in the drawings for the truss manufacturer.
