• It shall be the duty of such officers, deputies and assistants to perform the duties pertaining to the office of the City Clerk under the authority and direction of said City Clerk. Section 7 : CITY TREASURER. There shall be the following named deputies and assistants in the office of the City Treasurer, to wit: Deputy City Treasurer; Assistant Deputy Treasurer; Water Cashier; Assistant Water Cashier; and One (1) Clerk. It shall be the duty of such deputies and employees to perform the duties pertaining to the office of the City Treasurer as the City Treasurer shall authorize and direct. DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY. Section 8: HEALTH DEPARTMENT. There shall be the following named assistants in the Health Department , to wit : One (1) Health Officer, (part time) ; One (1) Deputy Health Officer; One (1) Milk and Food Inspector; One - (1) Meat inspector, (part time) ; and One (1) Stenographer, (half time) . It shall be the duty of such officers and assistants to perform the duties pertaining to said department under the direction of the Health Officer and Commissioner of Safety. Section 9: POLICE DEPARTMENT. • here shall be the following named officers and assistants in the Police Department , to wit : One (1) Chief of Police; One (1) Captain of Police; Four (4) Sergeants; Two (2) Plain Clothes men; -eighteen (18) First Class Patrolmen; 1'wo (2) Second Class Patrolmen; One (1) Third Glass Patrolmen; One (1) Police Matron and One (1) Jailor and Cook. It shall be the duty of the officers and assistants in said department to perform the duties indicated by the name of their employment , and such other duties as the Chief of Police or Commissioner of Safety may authorize and direct. Section 10: FIRE DEPARTM=. There shall be the following named officers and assistants in the Fire Department , to wit: One (1) Chief of Department ; One (1) First Assistant Chief of Department; One (1) Second Assistant Chief of Depart- ment ; One (1) Superintendent of Fire and Police Signal; One (1) Secretary and Senior Pipemen; One (1) Mechanic and Senior Pipe- man; One (1) Assistant Superintendent Fire and Police Signal ; Four (4) Captains; One (1) Assistant Mechanic and Senior Pipe- man; Thirteen (13) Senior Pipemen; Eleven (11) Junior Pipemen; Two (2) Second year pipemen, and One (1) or more First Year pipemen.
