ORDINANCE No. 2702 AN ORDINANCE levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 1937, on all taxable property, both real and personal, in said City, subject to taxation thereon for the purpose of raising sufficient revenue to carry on the different departments of said city for the ensuing year as required by the charter of said City and the laws of the State of dashington; prescribing and apportion- ing the same into different funds of said City for said fiscal year, and providing for the collection thereof. WIRES, on the 8th day of October, the City Council of the city of Everett duly and regularly adopted the estimate of the amounts required to meet the public expenses of said City for the ensuing year, and the amount to be raised by taxation in said City for said ensuing year, from sources other than by direct taxation; and uHEREAS, notice that said city iouncil tentatively completed the budget for the City of Everett for the year 1937 and that a copy of said budget would be furnished any taxpayer of the City of Everett on application therefor, and that the City Council would meet in the Council Room of the city Hall at 10:00 o ' clock A. Li. , on the 5th day of Cetober, 1936, for the purpose of fixing the final budget and designating the tax levies, and that any taxpayer might appear thereat and be heard for or against any part of said budget, was published in the official newspaper of said City in all respects as required by law; and WHEREAS , the City Council did on the 5th day of October, 1936, meet in the ouncil Chamber for said purpose and did from day to day continue the hearing on said budget to October 8, 1936, for the purpose aforesaid, and having heard all persons appearing in favor of or against said proposed tax levy, did then and there make, determine and decide the amount of taxes to be placed upon the current assessment roll to be in the sum of 414, 396.56. NOW, THEREFORE, TIE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That t-_ere be , and hereby is levied upon the real and personal property in the City of Everett, subject to taxation therein, a fenera.l property tax for municipal purposes for the ensuing year, commencing January 1, 1937, in the sum of y414,396.56.
