• ti V <br /> ORDINANCE No. 2694 <br /> AN OPDINl, CE relating to , and regulating certain kinds <br /> of sound vehicles operated for advertising purposes, requiring <br /> a license therefor , prescribing license fees therefor, and <br /> providing penalties for the violation thereof , and declaring <br /> an emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: The term "Sound Vehicle , " as herein <br /> used, shall mean and include every vehicle with a device or <br /> apparatus for the amplification of the human voice, phonograph, <br /> or other recordings, radio , bell ringing, or other sound pro- <br /> ducing or amplification instruments. <br /> Section 2: It shall be unlawful for any person, <br /> firm or corporation to operate or cause to be operated upon <br /> the streets, alleys, public places, or other places in Everett, <br /> any sound vehicle as described in this ordinance, for advertis- <br /> ing purposes, without first procuring a license therefor and <br /> except in accordance with the terms of this ordinance , and the <br /> Commissioner of Safety shall have authority to revoke any license <br /> for any cause deemed by him to be sufficient. <br /> Section 3 : It shall be unlawful to operate such <br /> sound vehicle in the City of Everett on any Sunday, or on any <br /> other days except between the hours of 8:00 o 'clock A. E. <br /> and 8:00 o 'clock P. I. , unless upon special permit from the <br /> Commissioner of Safety. <br /> Section. 4 : Any person, firm or corporation desiring <br /> to operate a sound vehicle , as defined in this ordinance, in <br /> accordance with the terms of this ordinance , upon the streets, <br /> alleys, other public places, or in any other places in Everett, <br /> for advertising purposes only, shall pay a license fee as <br /> follows: <br /> Seventy five <br /> (a) An annual license fee ofIldecitkrotre)tbaiNtfty <br /> Dollars ( : 75400) for each such vehicle operated. <br /> (b) A daily license fee for each such vehicle <br /> operated for any period less than a year, such license fee <br /> shall be ':'en Dollars (< 10.00) per day. <br /> Section 5: All applications for annual licenses <br /> regtz-ired under this ordinance shall be in writing and signed <br /> by the applicant , shall give the business address of the applicant <br /> and such other information as may be required, and shall be filed <br /> with the City Clerk. The City Clerk shall , at the next session <br /> of the City Council, present such appli atiop,and if said- Council <br /> shall approve said application, the City Clerk shall forthwith <br /> issue such license in accordance with the terms of this ordinance. <br /> All annual licenses issued under this ordinance shall expire on <br /> the 31st day of December of the year issued. The City Clerk <br /> may issue daily licenses under the terms of this ordinance upon <br /> the approval of the application by the Commissioner of Safety. <br />
