Innovative Aluminum Systems Inc. August 21,2008 <br /> Report No.3099244C0Q-005A Page 3 of 6 <br /> 2 Introduction <br /> Intertek Testing Services NA Ltd. (Intertek) has conducted a test program for the 6 ft. Innovative <br /> Aluminum Fascia and Surface Mounted Railing Systems submitted by Innovative Aluminum <br /> Systems Inc. The evaluation was carried out to determine whether the railing system would <br /> resist the loads specified in Section 1607.7 of the 2006 International Building Code (IBC), by <br /> following the ICC Evaluation Service, Inc. AC 273, Acceptance Criteria for Handrails and <br /> Guards, Approved February 2008. This evaluation was conducted in the month of November <br /> 2006. <br /> 3 Test Samples <br /> 3.1. SAMPLE SELECTION <br /> Intertek representative, No Tanner, sampled and witnessed the manufacture of the railing <br /> systems on November 10, 2006. The specimens were manufactured at Innovative Aluminum <br /> Systems Inc., #306 — 26730 56th Avenue, Aldergrove, BC, V4W 3X5. The sample selection <br /> process was carried out in accordance with recognized independent approved sampling <br /> procedures. <br /> 3.2. SAMPLE AND ASSEMBLY DESCRIPTION <br /> The different railing systems were identified as the following: <br /> • 6 ft. Innovative Picket Railing (Fascia Mount) <br /> Post: 1.72 in. x 1.72 in. 6005A-T61 Aluminum engineered post extrusion <br /> Mounting Plate: 1/4 in. thick, 4 in. x 5 in. 6063-T5 Aluminum with 3/4 in. offset and 4 screw <br /> holes <br /> Rails: 42 in. high, 6063-T5 Aluminum rail <br /> Picket Insert: 5/8 in. x 5/8 in. 6063-T5 Aluminum spaced 4-1/2 in. o/c <br /> Connections: Connection details are provided in Appendix B. <br /> • 6 ft.
