• <br /> ORDINANCE No. 2682 <br /> AN OR DINACE providing an emergency expenditure for <br /> the payment of legal work required of Preston, 2horgrimson <br /> Turner, attorneys, in connection, with the extension and <br /> reduction of interest on Everett General 'dater onus <br /> issued by the City of Everett under Ordinance No. 1727 of said <br /> City, providing for the issuance of emergency warrants therefor, <br /> and declaring an emergency. <br /> T=E CITY OP EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That a public emergency exists and that <br /> the amount of the expenditure therefor could not have been <br /> reasonably foreseen at the time of making the budget for the <br /> year 1936, to wit: In October 1935; that said emergency has <br /> been caused by the immediate necessity of entering into an <br /> agreement with the First National Bank of Everett, Washington, <br /> providing for the extension of time of payment and reduction <br /> of interest on Everett General 'Water Supply Bonds in the <br /> principal sum of One Hundred Forty Thousand Dollars ( 140, 000.00 <br /> issued under Ordinance No. 1727 of the City of Everett to <br /> prevent a default in said bonds, and said bank required the <br /> legal opinion of Preston, Thorgrimson & Turner, attorneys-at- <br /> law as to the legality of said proceedings before entering into <br /> such an agreement, said opinion to be paid for by the City of <br /> Everett . <br /> That the amount of money required to meet such <br /> emergency is in the sum of :;' 250.00 , and said amount is <br /> hereby appropriated to cover such emergency. <br /> Section 2: That there is hereby appropriated out <br /> of the General Current Expense Fund of Everett, not otherwise <br /> budgeted, the sum of 4 250.00 to pay such emergency <br /> expenditure, which sum shall be paid by the issuance of <br /> emergency warrants on such General Expense Fund by the proper <br /> officers of Everett as provided by law. <br /> Section 3: It appearing that this Ordinance and <br /> appropriation are necessary for the peace, health, safety and <br /> public welfare of the City of Everett, and an emergency is <br /> hereby declared to exist, bringing such appropriation within <br /> Section 6 of Chapter 158, Laws of Washington of 1923, and <br /> this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage <br /> and publication. <br /> Mayor <br /> Attest: <br /> City Clerk <br /> Passed: May 5th, 1936. <br /> Published: Nay 4th, 1936. <br />
