M t ORDINANCE NO. 2668 An Ordinance providing for an emergency expenditure to ,^over the cost of the primary and general city elections held in Everett, Washington, is- suing emergency warrants therefor in payment of the deficit occurring in the miscellaneous department of the general current expense fund and de- claring an emergency. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That a public emergency exists and that the amount of the expenditures therefor could not reasonably be foreseen at the time of the making of the budget for the year 1935 (to-wit , in October, 1934); that said emergency has been caused by the deficit occurring in the budget ap- propriation covering the cost of conducting primary and general city elec- tion held on November 23rd , 1935, and December 7th, 1935, in the city of Everett. That the amount of money required to meet such emergency is in the es- timated sum of Two Hundred Twenty-four and 54/100 G224.54) Dollars to meet such deficit appropriation, and said amount is hereby appropriated to cover such emergency. Section 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the general cur- rent expense fund of Everett not otherwise budgeted for use in the miscel- laneous department the sum of Two Hundred Twenty-four and 54/100 (y224.54) Dollars to pay such emergency expenditure which said warrant or warrants shall be paid by the issuance of emergency warrants on such general current expense fund , by the proper officers of Everett , as provided by law. Section 3 . It appearing that this Ordinance making such an appropria- tion is necessary for the preservation of the peace , Flood order and public welfare of the city of Everett, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, bringing such appropriation within Section 6 of Chapter 158 of the Laws of Washington, 1923, and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication.
