ORDINANCE No. 2662 <br /> An Ordinance providing for an emergency expenditure necessitated by <br /> the Public Works Department being called upon to do more street, road and <br /> bridge work than was contemplated when the budget was prepared for the <br /> year 1935, in the city of Everett, providing for the issuance of emergency <br /> Secondary Highway warrants therefore in payment of said street, road and <br /> bridge work out of the Secondary Highway fund and declaring an emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERET.T DUES ORDAIN; <br /> Section 1. That a public emergency exists and that the amount of the <br /> expenditures therefor could not reasonably be foreseen at the time of making <br /> the budget for the year 1935 ( to-wit in October, 1934) ; that said emergency <br /> has been caused by the Public Works Department being called upon to do more <br /> street, road and bridge work in Everett than was contemplated or that could <br /> be foreseen would be required when the budget of 1935 was prepared. <br /> The amount of money recuired to meet such emergency is in the estimated <br /> sum of Seven Thousand Five Hundred (v7 ,500) Dollars, and said amount is <br /> hereby appropriated to cover said emergency, under the item of "Miscel- <br /> laneous Street Repairs, Bridge Repairs, Everett Avenue Bridge , Norton Avenue <br /> and General Repairs to Bridgesa nd 'Streets" in the Secondary Highway Fund <br /> budget. <br /> Section 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the Secondary High <br /> way Fund of Everett not otherwise budgeted the sum of Seven Thousand, Five <br /> Hundred ($7,500) Dollars, to pay said emergency expenditures which said war- <br /> rant or warrants shall be paid by the issuance of emergency Secondary Highway <br /> 'warrants on the said Secondary Highway Fund, by the proper officers of Everet, <br /> as is provided by law. <br /> erection 3. That it appearing that this ordinance and said appropria- <br /> tion are necessary for the preservation of the peace, good order and property <br /> of the citizens of Everett, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, bring- <br /> ing it within Section 6, Chapter 158 of the laws of Jashington, 1923, and <br /> this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publica- <br /> tion. <br /> Attest: _.� Mayor. <br /> City Clerk. <br /> Passed: October 23, 1935. <br /> Published: October 24, 1935. <br />
