ORDINANCE NO.2661 An Ordinance levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for the fiscal year commencing January let, 1936, on all taxable property, both real and personal, in said City, subject to taxation thereon for the purpose of raising sufficient revenue to carry on the different departments of said. Ci- ty for the ensuing year, as required by the Charter of said city and the laws of the State of Washington, prescribing and apportioning the same into the different funds of said City for said fiscal year, providing for the collec- tion thereof and repealing all Ordinances in conflict therewith. WHEREAS , on the 9th day of October, 1935, the City Council of the City of Everett did duly and regularly adopt the estimate of the amounts re- quired to meet the public expenses of said City for the ensuing year and the amounts to be raised by taxation in said City for the said ensuing year from sources other than by direct taxation, and , WHEREAS , notice that said City Council tentatively completed the Budget of the City of Everett for the year 1936 and that a copy of said Budget would be furnished any taxpayer of the City of Everett upon application therefor and that the City Council would meet in the Council Room of the City Hall at 10:30 o'clock A.M. on October 7th, 1935, for the purpose of fixing the final Budget and designating the tax levies and that any taxpayer might appear thereat and be heard for or against any part of said Budget, was published in the official newspaper of said City in all respects as required by law, and, WHEREAS, the City Council did on October 7th, 1935, meet in the Council Chamber for said purpose and did from day to day, continue the hearing on said Budget to October 9 , 1935, for the purpose aforesaid and having heard all persons appearing in favor of or against said proposed tax levy, did then and there make, determine and decide the amount of taxes to be placed upon the current assessment roll to be in the sum of t470,986 .45, apportioned as hereinafter described, now, therefore , THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That there be and hereby is levied upon the real and per- sonal property in the city of Everett , subject to taxation herein, a general property tax for municipal purposes for the ensuing year, commencing January 1, 1936, in the sum of $470,986.45. Section 2. Said taxes shall be apportioned to the various funds of said -1-
