ORDINANCE No. 2659. <br /> An Ordinance submitting to the legal voters of the city of <br /> Everett a proposed amendment to the Charter of the city of Everett <br /> with relation to the limitation of tax levies and providing that <br /> such levies be based upon the assessed rather than the real valuation <br /> of the real and personal property, repealing Ordinance No. 2327 and <br /> all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith. <br /> THE CITY OF EVER;TT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. That a proposed amendment to Section 122 of the <br /> city of Everett wit relation to limitation of tax levies and provid- <br /> ing that such levies be based upon the assessed valuation rather than <br /> the real valuation, be submitted to the legal voters of the city of <br /> Everett at the general municipal election to be held in said city on <br /> December 7 , 1935. <br /> Section 2 : That Section 122 of the Charter of the city of Everett <br /> be amended so as to read as follows, to-wit : <br /> Section 122: The Council shall have authority to levy taxes upon <br /> all real and personal property, not exempt from taxation, each year as <br /> follows : <br /> For narks and cemetery, not exceeding two ( 2) mills. <br /> For libraries, not exceeding one and 25-100 ( 1 .25) mills. <br /> 'or all other purposes (except mentioned in the succeedfn ; sec- <br /> tion) , not exceeding fifteen ( 15) mills. <br /> Such tax levies shall be based upon the assessed valuation of the <br /> real and personal property rather than upon the real valuation. <br /> Section 3. That the form of the ballot to be used at the said <br /> election shall be as follows : <br /> For Parks and Cemetery Levy: <br /> "An Ordinance amending Section 122 of the Charter of the <br /> City of Everett by providing that the council shall have authority <br /> to levy taxes upon all real and personal property, not exempt <br /> from taxation, each year for parks and cemetery, not exceeding <br /> two (2) mills , repealing Ordinances in conflict herewith." . <br /> For Ordinance ( ) <br /> Against Ordinance ( ) <br /> .Lr _ May o r. <br /> City Clerk <br /> Passed: October 23, 1935. <br /> Published: October 24, 1935. <br />
