Ordinance No . 2643 An Ordinance providing for an emergency expenditure for the pay- ment of material , supplies and merchandise used in the Fire and Police Signal service of the Public Safety Department of the city of Everett , providing for the issuance of emergency warrants therefor and declar- ing an emergency. THE; CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 . That a public emergency exists and that the amount of the expenditure therefor could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time of making the budget for the year 1935 (to-wit, in October , 1934) ; that said emergency has been caused by the immediate necessity of pur- chasing materials, supplies and merchandise for use in the Fire and Po- lice Signal service of the Police Department of the city of Everett for its radio transmission equipment, which will be in the nature of a per- manent improvement and capital outlay for such service . That the amount of money required to meet such emergency is in the estimated sum of Two Hundred Fifty ( ,250.00) Dollars and said amount is hereby appropriated to cover such an emergency . Section 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the general fund of Everett the sum of Two Hundred Fifty (1250.00) Dollars, to pay said emergency expenditures , which said warrant or warrants shall be paid by the issuance of emergency warrants on said general fund , by the proper officers of Everett, as is provided by law. Section 3. That it appearing that this ordinance and the said ap- propriation are necessary for the preservation of the peace and good or- der within the city of Everett , an emergency is hereby declared to exist, bringing it within section 6 of chapter 158 of the laws of Washington, 1923, and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication.
