, ORDINANCE NO. 2637 An ordinance amending section 3 of ordinance No. 2623, entitled: "An ordinance establishing and creating a municipal planning commission for the city of Everett, providing for the organization, powers and duties of the same, adoption of the scope of control and officiap1 plan for the physical development of the municipality, the regulation of subdivisions_ and of plats of lands, prescribing plans for the beautification of said city, providing pekalties, and repealing ordinances inconsistent with this ordinance. " THE CITY OF EVERETT DO.i. S ORDAIN: Section 1. That section 3 of ordinance No. 2623 be amended so that said section 3 of said ordinance shall read. as f ollows: Section 3. The commission shall consist of nine members, namely, the commissioner of finance, commissioner of safety, and commissioner of public works , ex-officio, and six persons who shall be appointed by the city council, not more than one of whom shall be a non-resident of the city. All members of the commission shall serve without compensation, and shall hold no other municipal office . The commissioner of finance, commissioner of safety, and commissioner of public works shall serve only during their official tenure. The term of each appointed member shall be six years, except that the terms of the members first appointed shall be one, two , three, four, and five years. Mem- bers, other than the ex-officio members, after a public hearing before the city council, may be removed for inefficiency, neg- lect of duty, or malfeasance in office. Section 2. An emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication. Mayor. Attest: City Clerk. • Passed January 30th. 1935.
