, <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2637 <br /> An ordinance amending section 3 of ordinance No. 2623, <br /> entitled: "An ordinance establishing and creating a municipal <br /> planning commission for the city of Everett, providing for the <br /> organization, powers and duties of the same, adoption of the <br /> scope of control and officiap1 plan for the physical development <br /> of the municipality, the regulation of subdivisions_ and of plats <br /> of lands, prescribing plans for the beautification of said city, <br /> providing pekalties, and repealing ordinances inconsistent with <br /> this ordinance. " <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DO.i. S ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. That section 3 of ordinance No. 2623 be <br /> amended so that said section 3 of said ordinance shall read. <br /> as f ollows: <br /> Section 3. The commission shall consist of nine members, <br /> namely, the commissioner of finance, commissioner of safety, and <br /> commissioner of public works , ex-officio, and six persons who <br /> shall be appointed by the city council, not more than one of <br /> whom shall be a non-resident of the city. All members of the <br /> commission shall serve without compensation, and shall hold no <br /> other municipal office . The commissioner of finance, commissioner <br /> of safety, and commissioner of public works shall serve only <br /> during their official tenure. The term of each appointed member <br /> shall be six years, except that the terms of the members first <br /> appointed shall be one, two , three, four, and five years. Mem- <br /> bers, other than the ex-officio members, after a public hearing <br /> before the city council, may be removed for inefficiency, neg- <br /> lect of duty, or malfeasance in office. <br /> Section 2. An emergency is hereby declared to exist <br /> and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its <br /> passage and publication. <br /> Mayor. <br /> Attest: <br /> City Clerk. <br /> • <br /> Passed January 30th. 1935. <br /> Published January 31st _ 1935. <br />
