The highest-scored proposal will be brought to the <br />council for consideration and award. <br />Project summary statement: <br />The City is requesting City Council authorize the issuance of a Request for Proposals <br />(RFP) to receive proposals from fire truck manufacturers to provide up to three triple <br />combination Type 1 fire engines. Proposals received would be considered for the <br />scheduled replacement of J0070, J0076, and J0078, which are 2003, 2005, and 2007 <br />American LaFrance Type 1 fire engines, respectively. <br />The City of Everett Fire Department has a total of eleven (11) fire engines, six (6) six of <br />which are in service 24/7, and five (5) are held in reserve to fill in for breakdowns and <br />maintenance and training. There is always one fire engine at every Everett fire station. <br />All engines are equipped with a fire pump, a 500-gallon water tank, a foam system, a <br />monitor, and a large complement of fire hoses for fire attack, exposure protection, and <br />water supply. Engines also carry ground ladders, self-contained breathing apparatus <br />(SCBA), forcible entry and extrication tools, first aid equipment, a variety of hose <br />appliances, and assorted other equipment and tools. The crew of an engine company <br />usually consists of an officer, a driver/engineer, and a firefighter. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize release of Request for Proposal #2023-104 Triple Combination Pumper.
