No budget
amendment is required.
Project summary statement:
This project is to install a total of four inductive field chargers at two transit stations: College
Station and Seaway Transit Center. These inductive chargers will be used to charge Everett
Transit’s electric fleet while buses are parked at layover stations.
The existing grant agreement contained an engineering phase and a construction phase. Due to
supply chain and manufacturing delays, only the engineering phase was completed during the
original term of the grant (7/1/2021-6/30/2023).
To complete the construction phase of the project, city staff asked the Washington State
Department of Transportation to extend the contract. The Washington State Department of
Transportation moved the remaining funding for the construction portion of this project
($1,824,000 plus local match) into the next fiscal biennium (7/1/2023-6/30/2025) via the state
legislature.
The amendment will extend the project term to 6/30/2025 and reflect that the funding was
moved into the current biennium.
Recommendation (exact action requested of Council):
Authorize the mayor to sign the 2021-2025 PTD0465-02 WSDOT Green Transportation Inductive
Chargers grant amendment.
