ORDINANCE NO . 2618 An Ordinance amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2613 of the City of Everett , entitled as follows: "An Ordinance relating to, and providing for, the licensing and regulation of the business or occupation of carrying on. and con- ducting Dance Cafes and restaurants permitting dancing or enter- tainment in the city of Everett , levying an annual license fee, excise or occupation tax for revenue upon the same, establishing zones for the location thereof, prescribing the possession and sale of intoxicating beverages therein and the suspension or re- vocation of any such license, imposing penalties for the viola- tion thereof and declaring an emergency" and declaring an emergency: THE CITY OF EVEPETT DOES OFDAIN: Section 1: That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2613 of the City of Everett be amended so as to read as follows, to-wit: Section 3: No license shall be granted to any person, association, co- partnership or corporation and it shall be unlawful to carry on, or conduct the business of a "Dance Cafe" or restaurant permitting dancing or other enter- tainment et any place within the limits of the city of Everett outside of a district or zone bounded and described as follows, to-wit: (a) Beginning at a point where the center line of Everett Avenue if ex- tended intersects the city's westerly boundary line; thence easterly on the center line of Everett Avenue to a point where said avenue, if extended, inter- sects the city's boundary line on. the east; thence southerly along said east- Orly boundary line to a point where Pacific Avenue , if extended , intersects said eastern boundary line; thence westerly along the center line of Pacific ..venue to a point formed by the intersection. of said Pacific Avenue , if extend- ed, to the westerly boundary line of said city;, thence northerly along said western boundary line to the place of beginning; Provided, that no "Dance Cafe" or restaurant permitting dancing or other entertainment license shall be grant-• ed, either by original issue or transfer, to any person, association, copart- nership or corporation in a block or within a block where a church. is now or may hereafter be located, distance to be measured by established street lines; Provided, furthers that the number of licenses issued for "Dance Cafes" in the city of Everett shall not exceed ten (10). -1-
