a <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2608 <br /> An Ordinance providing for an emergency expenditure for the purchase <br /> of materials to be used in Making a Survey of Traffic Conditions in the <br /> City of Everett for use in the compilation of data and statistics in the <br /> State of Washington and the United States Government, providing for the <br /> issuance of emergency warrants therefor and declaring an emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. That a public emergency exists and that the amount of the <br /> expenditures therefor could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time <br /> of making the budget for the year 1934 (to-wit, in October, 1933) ; that <br /> said emergency has been caused by the immediate necessity of purchasing <br /> materials to be used in making a Survey of Traffic Conditions in the City <br /> of Everett for 'hse in the compilation of data and statistics thereon in <br /> the State of Washington. and the United States Government , the major part <br /> pr•Oosed <br /> of the cost of which isn o be borne by the allocation of funds by and <br /> through the State and National governments. <br /> That the amount of money required to meet such emergency is in the <br /> estimated sum of One Hundred Twenty-five ( 125) Dollars and said amount <br /> is hereby appropriated to cover said emergency. <br /> Section 2. That there in hereby appropriated out of the general <br /> fund of Everett the said sum of One Hundred Twenty-five ( 125) Dollars , <br /> to pay said emergency expenditure, which said warrant shall be paid by <br /> the issuance of emergency warrants on said general fund, by the proper <br /> officers of Everett, as is provided by law. <br /> Section 3. That it appearing that this Ordinance and said appro- <br /> priation are necessary for the preservation of peace, heath and good <br /> order within the said City of Everett, en emergency is hereby declared <br /> to exist, bringing it within Section 6 of chapter 158 of the laws of <br /> Washington, 1923, and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon <br /> its passage and publication. <br /> Mayor <br /> Attest: <br /> City Clerk <br /> Passed: April 18th, 1934. <br /> Published: April 20th, 1934. <br />
