) • 1 � <br /> • <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2601 . <br /> An Ordinance of the City of Everett providing for the fixing and determin- <br /> ation of the number and designation of officers , assistants and employees upon <br /> the Everett-Alderwood Water project, to comply with the regulations of the Fed- <br /> eral government, and State Aid grant , prescribing the hours of labor, duties, <br /> salaries and wages of such officers, assistants and employees, and declaring an <br /> emergency: <br /> THE CITY OF EN7c1RETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: There is hereby established in compliance with the regulations <br /> of the act of the Federal government and the State Aid grant, a six (6) hour day <br /> for all employees engaged upon the additions to the Everett Water System, known <br /> as Project No . 1 of the Everett-Alder-:eood ';Dater pipe line, and the said six (6) • <br /> hours shall constitute a day 's work whether said employees are employed and paid <br /> by the hour or by the day. <br /> Section 2: There shall be employed by the City of Lverett under the direc- <br /> tion and supervision of the Commissioner of Public Works, the necessary foreman, <br /> engineer, inspector, craneman, and other officers, assistants and employees re- <br /> quired to perform the work in building and the construction of said project, and <br /> their duties shall be such as relate to the office and position held by any such <br /> employee and such other duties as the Commissioner of Public Works shall direct. <br /> Section 3: Such officers and employees shall receive as salaries or wages <br /> during the term of their employment upon this project according to the following <br /> schedule: <br /> Foreman Five Dollars (05.00) per day <br /> Engineer Five Dollars (05.00) per day <br /> Craneman One Dollar (01.00) per hour <br /> Inspector Seventy-five cents (0.75) per hour <br /> Head pipe layer Seventy cents (0.70) per hour <br /> Assistant pipe layer Sixty cents ( .60) per hour <br /> Yarner Sixty cents (0.60) per hour <br /> Watchman Fifty cents ( .50) per hour <br /> Common Labor Fifty cents 0.50) per hour <br /> Section 4: An emergency hereby exists and the wage rate established by this <br /> Ordinance shall be known and designated as the emergency relief pay roll , paid <br /> from funds received from Federal and State Aid grants, and this ordinance shall <br /> be in full force and 'effec-t immediately upon its passage and publication, retro- <br /> active to January 1, 1934 . <br /> Mayor <br /> Attest: <br /> City Clerk <br /> Passed: February 14th, 1934. <br /> Published: February 16th, 1934. <br />
