• <br /> • <br /> J <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO . 2596 . <br /> /-2 - <br /> An Ordinance authorizing the sale by the City of Everett of Lots 3 and 4 in <br /> Block 714 of the Everett Land Company's First Addition to Everett, Snohomish County , <br /> Washington, to John F. Jerread Inc., a corporation, providing the terms to be set <br /> forth in a real estate contract, directing the proper officers to execute and de- <br /> liver said contract and declaring an emergency. <br /> WHEREAS , the City of Everett has acquired a new location for its public lib- <br /> rary, and upon construction of a new library building thereon and occupancy of the <br /> same , the said City no longer has any use for the property above described; and <br /> WHEREAS, an offer of Eight Thousand Five Hundred ( 8500) Dollars, a part of <br /> which is in cash and the balance to be paid upon installments, has been made to <br /> the City of Everett for such property by the John F. Jerread, Inc ., a corporation, <br /> which sum is deemed by the City Council as a fair consideration for such property. <br /> Now, Therefore, <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That the following described property owned by the City of Everett <br /> and situate in said City, to-wit: <br /> one. 6)) T-iT-U 12) <br /> Lots Three (3) and Four (4) in Block Seven Hundred Fourteen (714) of the <br /> Everett Land Company's First Addition to Everett, Snohomish County, Wash- <br /> ington, together with appurtenances thereunto belonging, <br /> be sold to the John F. Jerread, Inc ., a corporation, in the manner and upon the <br /> terms as follows, to-wit: <br /> The whole sum therefor shall be Eight Thousand Five Hundred (48500) Dol- <br /> lars, of which the said purchaser shall pay One Thousand (41000) in cash <br /> upon the making of a real estate contract by seller and purchaser, Eleven <br /> Hundred (41100) Dollars upon vacation by the Library Board of premises, and <br /> balance in installments with 6% interest, all to be performed according <br /> to the terms and covenants of a real estate contract. <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and instructed <br /> to execute and deliver all necessary instruments to carry into effect the provi- <br /> sions of this Ordinance . <br /> Section 3. That it is to the best interests of the City of Everett that said <br /> property be disposed of immediately, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and <br /> this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication. <br /> Mayor <br /> Attest: 7 y` <br /> City Clerk <br /> Passed: December 27th, 1933. <br /> Published: December 29th, 1933. <br />
