• • J • ORDINANCE NO . 2596 . /-2 - An Ordinance authorizing the sale by the City of Everett of Lots 3 and 4 in Block 714 of the Everett Land Company's First Addition to Everett, Snohomish County , Washington, to John F. Jerread Inc., a corporation, providing the terms to be set forth in a real estate contract, directing the proper officers to execute and de- liver said contract and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS , the City of Everett has acquired a new location for its public lib- rary, and upon construction of a new library building thereon and occupancy of the same , the said City no longer has any use for the property above described; and WHEREAS, an offer of Eight Thousand Five Hundred ( 8500) Dollars, a part of which is in cash and the balance to be paid upon installments, has been made to the City of Everett for such property by the John F. Jerread, Inc ., a corporation, which sum is deemed by the City Council as a fair consideration for such property. Now, Therefore, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That the following described property owned by the City of Everett and situate in said City, to-wit: one. 6)) T-iT-U 12) Lots Three (3) and Four (4) in Block Seven Hundred Fourteen (714) of the Everett Land Company's First Addition to Everett, Snohomish County, Wash- ington, together with appurtenances thereunto belonging, be sold to the John F. Jerread, Inc ., a corporation, in the manner and upon the terms as follows, to-wit: The whole sum therefor shall be Eight Thousand Five Hundred (48500) Dol- lars, of which the said purchaser shall pay One Thousand (41000) in cash upon the making of a real estate contract by seller and purchaser, Eleven Hundred (41100) Dollars upon vacation by the Library Board of premises, and balance in installments with 6% interest, all to be performed according to the terms and covenants of a real estate contract. Section 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and instructed to execute and deliver all necessary instruments to carry into effect the provi- sions of this Ordinance . Section 3. That it is to the best interests of the City of Everett that said property be disposed of immediately, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication.
