600 Ninth Ave Apts
'. COAST
City of Everett (Resident)
FIRE EVACUATION PLAN
The following are the steps and procedures required in the event of a fire:
1. FIRE ALARM SAFETY
a. Independent smoke detectors, horns and sprinklers are located in each unit and are connected directly to the alarm life
safety system.
2. EVACUATION PROCEDURES: Treat every alarm as though it is a real emergency.
a. If the alarm is sounding in your unit, feel doors to see if they are hot before opening. If the door is cool, open it slowly
and check conditions in the hallway before exiting. Close all doors and windows behind you, and proceed to exit
through the nearest stairwell. Do not return to your unit for any reason. If you encounter smoke, stay low or crawl. The
air will be best near the ground. Cover your nose and mouth with a wet cloth to breathe easier.
b. Before entering the stairwell, check the door to see if it is hot. If it is cool, proceed to the exit. If the stairwell is filled with
smoke and you aren't sure you can make it out. Return to your unit to await evacuation.
c. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THE ELEVATORS.
d. If a fire exists, render assistance to others as much as you are able.
e. Proceed to the gathering area to the north of the building to await further instructions. Notify management or other
emergency personnel if you think someone is still in the building.
f. Wait until you are given instructions by the fire department to return to your unit.
3. NON -AMBULATORY EVACUATION:
a. If you find that you are unable to evacuate the building on your own, please notify management immediately, preferably
prior to a critical situation so that your unit will be provided on a list to the fire department.
b. If in the event of an emergency you find that you are not able to evacuate the building close your door and seal off the
base with a wet towel and hang a sheet or drapery out of the window to signal that you are trapped. Wait for
emergency personnel to evacuate you.
Apartment Number: 1 - 501
__
'ZBIZ I
Date Young Yang (Owner/Agent) Date
23
