That long existing opening was infilled with a replacement and furring in
kind to fit within the existing long rough opening. There was no alteration to the
existing rough opening. The garage door was not working and was removed from
the existing overhead door tracks. As instructed, the opening is in place for my car
to drive in. No alteration was made to the rough opening as it is now in the
original condition from when the house was built. A licensed electrician got a
permit to repair the outdated wiring in the garage as required. We needed to
remove and replaced the existing wallboard, paneling, and insulation to be able to
repair the electrical. Those surface finish items were all repaired and put back in
place in kind. The electrical repair was performed under a permit, and all of the
existing surface finish items have been repaired and put back into place in kind for
it to still function as an unconditioned garage as it always has. There has been no
change to the structure, no increase in floor area, no change of use, and no
change to the existing thermal envelope. We would like to finish our electrical
inspection as required.
Please let me know what the next step is to get us back to good standing with the
city.
Thanks,
Scott Selfridge
425-501-2430
Sent from Mail for Windows
From: Cindy Bemsma
Sent: Thursday, June 23, 2022 9:54 AM
