She received the request for <br />details from an architect firm and will respond. I think one issue the architect will need to know— is the <br />basement and attic levels (to the best of my research) have never been approved for use as habitable <br />space. Also the installation of a kitchen in the basement was never approved. So the necessary <br />abatement is not a "Remodel project' but gaining permits to restore the structure to a lawful status. <br />That can mean —gaining permits to "remove unpermitted alterations." Through the permit process — it <br />will be worked out how much must be removed from the basement and attic levels. <br />I have copied Terri on this email as she will be the primary point of contact for your contractors and she <br />will eventually issue the necessary permits. <br />Regarding the code hearing — it is a hearing where the City and you the Respondent can offer <br />information about the condition of the property. The previous HEO required the previous owner to keep <br />the structure vacant and secure and to take steps to make the structure lawful within a period of time. <br />The new hearing should produce a similar Order for you — as the current owner. As I said before, I <br />believe you were not told about the existing violations —so I will agree to suspended any fine so long as <br />you comply with the HEO. <br />I am in the office today— if you wish to discuss details further. He also reached out to city of <br />Everett to get more details on exactly what we need to do and we are awaiting that response. <br />Thanks for all the information. I am coordinating with my realtors, architect, and lawyer about all of this <br />and when one of us can show you inside the property. <br />Also, what is the 10/22 hearing for exactly? Is it to formally tell me the violations against the property? <br />
