The property structure containing unpermltted alteration and/or repairs renders the property structure unlawful, as defined by the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) 108.1.4, in violation of IPMC 106.1 and the International Residential Code (IRC) R105.1, which read: IPMC 106.1 Unlawful acts. It shall be unlawful for a person, firm or corporation to be in conflict with or in violation of any of the provisions of this code. IPMC 108.1.4 Unlawful structure. An unlawful structure is one found in whole or in part to be occupied by more persons than permitted under this code, or was erected, altered or occupied contrary to law. IRC 11105.1 Required. Any owner or authorized agent who Intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be done, shall first make application to the building official and obtain the required permit. To resolve these property violations the following corrective actions are required: 1. City of Everett Public Works Department permits are required for the property structure alteration and/or repairs. NOTE READ: Stop all property structure work immediately. No property structure alteration construction and/or repairs are to be performed before the issuance of City of Everett Public Works Department permits. STOP WORK ORDER posted at the property 30 August 2021. Apply for and obtain the City of Everett Public Works Department permits, for the property structure unpermltted alterations, to bring the property Into compliance with the Everett Municipal Code, the International Residential Code, and the International Property Maintenance Code. Corrective action item #1 and Item #2 must be completed before December 1, 2021. Property permit verification inspection will be conducted. 3. The property structure is required by the City of Everett Public Works Department permits to have the work inspected and approved by staff from the City of Everett, Public Works Department, Permit Services. 4. If the property Is sold, sellers are required to provide a copy of this Notice to Comply to the buyers, prior to the sale of the property. Corrective action Item #3 must be completed before April 25, 2022. Property permit verification inspection will be conducted. Failure to comply with the conditions listed in this notice, may result in a hearing before the City's Violation Hearing Examiner and a fine and/or cost being assessed against you. Page 2 of 4
