The property structure containing unpermltted alteration and/or repairs renders the property structure <br />unlawful, as defined by the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) 108.1.4, in violation of <br />IPMC 106.1 and the International Residential Code (IRC) R105.1, which read: <br />IPMC 106.1 Unlawful acts. <br />It shall be unlawful for a person, firm or corporation to be in conflict with or in violation of any of the <br />provisions of this code. <br />IPMC 108.1.4 Unlawful structure. <br />An unlawful structure is one found in whole or in part to be occupied by more persons than permitted <br />under this code, or was erected, altered or occupied contrary to law. <br />IRC 11105.1 Required. <br />Any owner or authorized agent who Intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish or <br />change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, <br />convert or replace any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is <br />regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be done, shall first make application to the building <br />official and obtain the required permit. <br />To resolve these property violations the following corrective actions are required: <br />1. City of Everett Public Works Department permits are required for the property structure <br />alteration and/or repairs. <br />NOTE READ: Stop all property structure work immediately. <br />No property structure alteration construction and/or repairs are to be performed <br />before the issuance of City of Everett Public Works Department permits. <br />STOP WORK ORDER posted at the property 30 August 2021. <br />Apply for and obtain the City of Everett Public Works Department permits, for the property <br />structure unpermltted alterations, to bring the property Into compliance with the Everett <br />Municipal Code, the International Residential Code, and the International Property Maintenance <br />Code. <br />Corrective action item #1 and Item #2 must be completed before December 1, 2021. Property <br />permit verification inspection will be conducted. <br />3. The property structure is required by the City of Everett Public Works Department permits to <br />have the work inspected and approved by staff from the City of Everett, Public Works <br />Department, Permit Services. <br />4. If the property Is sold, sellers are required to provide a copy of this Notice to Comply to the <br />buyers, prior to the sale of the property. <br />Corrective action Item #3 must be completed before April 25, 2022. Property permit <br />verification inspection will be conducted. <br />Failure to comply with the conditions listed in this notice, may result in a hearing before the City's <br />Violation Hearing Examiner and a fine and/or cost being assessed against you. <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />
