ORDINANCE NO . 2586 <br /> An Ordinance authorizing and directing the proper officials of the City <br /> of Everett to refund on a pro rata basis to water customers of the water de- <br /> partment of the City, providing for an adjustment of and crediting the water <br /> customers' accounts in accordance with the Water Code , Ordinance No . 2582' ef- <br /> fective as of June 1st , 1933 , said refund moneys to be taken. out of the funds <br /> of the Water Department not otherwise appropriated, and declaring an emergency . <br /> WHEREAS , Ordinance No. 2582 provides for certain reductions in water cus- <br /> tomers' accounts of the Water Department of said City ; And <br /> WHEREAS , the City Council believes that the said water customers' accounts <br /> should be reconciled and an adjustment made upon the water rates paid by them <br /> to the said City, effective as of June 1st , 1933, in accordance with the provi- <br /> sions of its Water Code , Ordinance No. 2582, crediting the said water customers <br /> upon water bills for the months of June , July, August and September, in the <br /> year 1933, the difference to be prorated for said months, in full; Now, Therefore <br /> TEE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That all water customers of the Water Department of the City <br /> of Everett shall be entitled to a refund of the amount of the excess paid over <br /> and above the rates provided for in the Water Code, Ordinance No. 2582, of said <br /> City, and said amount of refund shall be prorated and credited upon the water <br /> accounts of said water customers for the months of June , July, August and Sep- <br /> tember, 1933, effective as of June 1st, 1933 , and the funds so credited shall <br /> be reconciled upon the books and records of the Water Department in accordance <br /> with the provisions of this Ordinance . <br /> Section 2: That any moneys so refunded, if necessary, may be taken out of <br /> the funds of the Water Department of the City not otherwise appropriated, and <br /> all payments shall be by warrant drawn upon the treasurer, signed by the IMayor <br /> and Clerk, and the proper officers shall make the usual entries upon the records <br /> of the City and do all the usual and necessary acts to carry this Ordinance into <br /> effect. <br /> Section 3: That an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance <br /> shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication. <br /> Attest: <br /> City Clerk <br /> Passed: August NU:4_193i_ <br /> Published: Sept. 1st, 3.9.33 <br />
