• I
Drew Martin
From: Drew Martin
Sent: Friday,August 6, 2021 3:58 PM
To: Dennis Kelly
Subject: City of Everett Permit Services: 996 W Casino Road #996-2 (B2107-041) - First Building
Intake Review
Hello, Mr. Kelly.
Your application has been received and a permit set up. However, the submitted documents are not sufficient
for us to perform a review at this timeRevised construction-level documents need to be submitted for
review. Preliminary comments are provided below to assist in revising the drawings, but these are not
intended to provide a comprehensive review.
1. Th project involves modifications of the exterior building envelop for a multi-family building. Complete
of the RCW 64.55 form is required. See the Permit Services portion of the City of Everett
website. Details prepared by a licensed architect may be required pending the selected option.
2. The plans should include a key plan clarifying the location and level of the proposed work.
3. The damage is understood to be caused by fire-suppression activities including water damage. The
following comments should be addressed:
a. A partial floor plan should be provided showing the damaged room directly below the
trusses. Repair of finishes should be specified.
b. The story below the damaged story is understood to have experience water exposure. This has
likely caused water damage or at least saturation of the GWB and materials in the floor cavity,
including electrical wiring. Replacement of these finishes and materials (e.g., insulation, wiring,
etc.) should also be performed.
c. The walls and floors are fire-rated assemblies. Details for listed tested assemblies complying
with the permitted building construction should be provided per IBC Chapter 7. The
construction type for the building should be established per IBC Chapter 6 and stated in the
drawings; the required performance ratings for the assemblies should be stated.
4. Additional permits may be required, such as but not limited to electrical. A list of additional required
permits should be provided in the drawings.
Review of your project will be performed in the order received once the required documentation has been
submitted. Please let me know if you have questions.
Drew Martin, P.E.,S.E.
LI
Associate Engineer—Commercial Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8813 13200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett,WA 98201
EVERETT Hours: M/W/Th/F: 7:30am-12:0Opm &1:0Opm-3:00pm;Tu: 1:00pm-3:00pm
everettwa.gov I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
1
