CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />Beverly Lake Water Quality Retrofit Division 1 – GENERAL REQUIREMENTS August 2023 <br />WO No – UP3745 SP – 146 <br />4. Furnishing labor and materials for maintaining the signs in a clean and <br />presentable condition; <br />5. All other incidentals necessary for providing the construction signs according <br />to the approved traffic control plan(s). <br />Signs, posts, or supports that are lost, stolen, destroyed, or which the Engineer deems <br />to be unacceptable, while their use is required on the project, shall be replaced by the <br />Contractor without additional compensation. <br />1-10.4 Measurement <br />Delete 1-10.4 and substitute the following: <br />1-10.4 Measurement <br />1-10.4(1) General <br />(******) <br />When the Bid Proposal does not include an item for any necessary traffic control, all <br />costs for traffic control shall be included, by the Contractor, in the unit contract price for <br />the various other items of Work in the Bid Proposal. The Contractor shall estimate these <br />costs based on the contemplated work procedures. <br />When traffic control items are included in the Bid Proposal, payment is limited to the <br />following areas: <br />The entire project area under the Contract and for a distance to include the initial warning <br />signs for the beginning of the Project and the end of construction. Warning signs for <br />side roads on the approved traffic control plan are also included. If the project consists <br />of two or more sections, the limits will apply to each section individually. <br />A detour provided in the Plans or approved by the Engineer for by-passing all or any <br />portion of the construction, irrespective of whether or not the termini of the detour are <br />within the limits of the Contract. <br />The provisions of Section 1-04.6 will not apply to traffic control or traffic control items. <br />However, the item "Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Control" will be considered for <br />an equitable adjustment only when the total Contract price increases or decreases by <br />more than 25 percent. <br />The measurement and payment for the items included in the Bid Proposal for traffic <br />control costs incurred within the limits of 1 and 2 above will be made to the Contractor <br />by the City as described in these Special Provisions. <br />1-10.4(2) Measurement <br />(******) <br />Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br />described in Division B – Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section <br />1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br />1-10.5 Payment <br />Delete 1-10.5 and substitute the following: <br />1-10.5 Payment <br />(******) <br />Payment for bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be <br />as described in Division B – Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and <br />Section 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> <br />ADD NEW SECTION 1-11
