September 6, 2023 <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE approving the appropriations of the 2023 revised City of Everett Budget <br />and amending Ordinance No. 3961-23 <br /> Presented by Susy Haugen and Heide Brillantes, Finance <br /> <br />Discussion ensued among Council members and with staff answering Council questions. <br /> <br />Council Member Vogeli requested the specific staff positions that are being funded by grants. <br />Susy stated she would provide the requested information. <br /> <br />Council Members Vogeli and Fosse inquired about what Council action might be to request a <br />hiring freeze. Mayor Franklin stated staff would work to provide that information. <br /> <br />Council Member Vogeli requested the list of outside legal counsel who work with the City. David <br />Hall stated he would provide the requested information. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopt a Resolution concerning 2024 Human Needs Priorities <br /> Presented by Kembra Landry, Community Development <br /> <br />Discussion ensued with Kembra answering Council questions. <br /> <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br /> <br />The City Council recessed for an executive session at 8:01 p.m., began the executive session at <br />8:03 p.m., and ended the executive session at 8:13 p.m. <br /> <br />SETTLEMENT – WORKERS COMPENSATION <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Vogeli, seconded by Council Member Tuohy, to authorize the <br />Mayor to sign the workers compensation settlement agreement with former employee Roger <br />Huntley’s beneficiary in the amount of $200,000. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Schwab who was <br />excused. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
