ORDINANCE NO. 2553 .
<br /> An Ordinance amending Sections 14 and 28 of Ordinance No. 2483 and Section 6
<br /> of Ordinance No. 2548 of the City of Everett , providing for the fixing and deter-
<br /> mining of the number and designation of the various officers, assistants, deputies,
<br /> and employees of the City of Everett and the various departments thereof, prescrib-
<br /> ing the duties of such officers, assistants, deputies and employees, fixing their
<br /> salaries, and repealing Sections 14 and 28 of Ordinance No. 2483 and Section 6 of
<br /> Ordinance No. 2548 of the City of Everett, and all other Ordinances and parts of
<br /> Ordinances in conflict therewith .
<br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN:
<br /> Section 1. That Section 14 of Ordinance No . 2483 be amended so as to read
<br /> as follows, to-wit:
<br /> Section 14. There shall be in the office of the water department the following
<br /> named officers, assistants and employees, to-wit: Superintendent, assistant super-
<br /> intendent, general foreman, headworks operator, operator Three Lakes Station, Opera-
<br /> tor Panther Creek Station, inspector, stenographer, clerk, hydrant flusher , stock
<br /> clerk, blacksmith, blacksmith helper, auto repairman, meter repairman, serviceman,
<br /> foreman, pipefitter, truck driver, pickup driver, caretaker, janitor, carpenter,
<br /> welder, air compressor operator, tractor operator, machinist, miner , patrolman,
<br /> relief man, mapper , laborers, and when necessary, extra common laborers. The su-
<br /> perintendent shall be in general charge and supervision of the water department;
<br /> the other employees and assistants shall perform such duties as pertain to the na-
<br /> ture of their office and as authorized and di#ected by the superintendent; PRO-
<br /> VIDED, that nothing herein contained shall be construed to prevent the offices of
<br /> City Engineer and the Superintendent of the Water Department from being filled by
<br /> one appointee.
<br /> Section 2. That Section 28 of Ordinance No. 2483 be amended so as to read as
<br /> follows, to-wit:
<br /> Section 28: Engineering Department
<br /> City Engineer, One Hundred Ten 0110.00) Dollars per month (part time) .
<br /> Assistant City Engineer, One Hundred Seventy-five ($175 .00) Dollars per month.
<br /> Draftsman, One Hundred and Fifty ($150.00) Dollars per month.
<br /> Stenographer , One Hundred and Ten ($110.00) Dollars per month.
<br /> Transitmen, One Hundred Sixty-five ($165.00) Dollars per month.
<br /> Head Chairmen, Five ($5.00) Dollars per day.
<br /> Rear Chainmen, Four and 50/100 ($4.50) Dollars per day .
<br /> Axeman, Four and 25/100 ($4.25) Dollars per day .
<br /> Levelman, One Hundred and Fifty ($150.00) Dollars per month.
<br /> Inspectors, Six ($6 .00) Dollars per day.
<br /> Inspectors, Five ($5.00) Dollars per day .
<br /> Draftsman, One Hundred and Fifty (-;150.00) Dollars per month.
<br /> Junior Rodman, Five and 50/100 ($5 .50) Dollars per day .
<br /> Abstract Clerk, Ten G10.00) Dollars per month.
<br /> Section 3 . That Section 6 of Ordinance No . 2548 be amended so as to read as
<br /> follows, to-wit:
<br /> Section 6: Water Department
<br /> Superintendent , One Hundred Fifteen ( 115 .00) Dollars per month (part time) .
<br /> Assistant Superintendent, One Hundred Ninety ($190.00) Dollars per month.
<br /> General Foreman, One Hundred Seventy-five ($175.00) Dollars per month.
<br /> Headworks Operator, One Hundred Sixty ($160.00) Dollars per month.
<br /> Operator, Three Lakes Station, One Hundred Fifty ($150.00) Dollars per month.
<br /> Operator, Panther Creek Station, One Hundred Fifty ($150.00) Dollars per month.
<br /> Inspector , One Hundred Forty ($140.00) Dollars per month.
