a 4 , <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 25.40 <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for emergency expenditures, the issuance of <br /> emergency warrants therefor, payable out of the Road and Bridge Fund and <br /> declaring an emergency. <br /> WHERELS, a public emergency other than those specifically described <br /> in Section 6, Chapter 158, laws of 1923 and which emergency could not <br /> reasonably have been forseen at the time of making the Budget for tie <br /> year 1932, to-wit: In October, 1931, requires the expenditure of money <br /> not provided for in said Budget, now, therefore, <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That a public emergency exists other than those specifi- <br /> cally described in Section 6, Chapter 158, Laws of 1923, which could not <br /> reasonably have been forseen at the time of making the Budget for the <br /> year 1932, to-wit: In October, 1931; that said emergency has been caused <br /> by reason of the fact that the bridge on 16th Street near East Grand Ave. <br /> has become dangerous to traffic and will have to be closed unless the <br /> bridge is replaced. That the closing of said bridge would cut off the old <br /> Ferry-Baker Mill property and the South end of Weyerhaeuser Mill from fire <br /> protection. That the amount of money required to meet said emergency is <br /> in the estimated sun of Three Thousand Dollars (43000.00) . <br /> Section 2: Said emergency expenditures shall be paid for by the <br /> issuance of emergencygwarrents by the proper officers of the City of <br /> Everett as provided by law and said emergency warrants shall be paid from <br /> moneys on hand in the Road and Bridge Fund. <br /> Section 3: It appearing that this Ordinance is necessary for the <br /> public safety in the matter of traffic and fire protection, an emergency <br /> is declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect immediately <br /> upon its passage and publication. <br /> ATTEST: Mayor <br /> 4111 <br /> City 1L e rk- <br /> Passed: November 24th, 1931. <br /> Published: November 26th, 1931. <br />
