The plan must be approved by City Council by May 1998 in order for the City to be eligible for IAC grants in 1998. One of the key requirements of a Comp Plan is public opinion and input. The department satisfies this requirement by conducting several public surveys. Due to staffing limitations,the contracting for these surveys was not completed until December 1997. The contractor is expected to finish the last survey the first week of February. A reappropriation is necessary to carry forward the funds budgeted in 1997 for this project. Funds were appropriated in the 1997 Parks Project budget to pay for the mapping; however, Utilities did not begin working on the project until late 1997. A reappropriation is necessary to carry forward the funds budgeted in 1997 to complete this project.
