• <br /> ORDINANCE NO. n64 <br /> An Ordinance providing for emergency expenditures for the re- <br /> placement of the sewer on 25th Street from the manhole on the east <br /> property line of the Great Northern Right-of-way to Nassau Street <br /> and on Nassau Street from <br /> 25th Street to Everett Avenue, by re-building manholes and doing <br /> all other work necessary to make a complete improvement and also <br /> for the payment of that part of the cost, in excess of 41925.00, <br /> of improving 35th Street from the manhole at the intersection of <br /> 35th Street and Nassau Street to the intersection of 35th Street <br /> and Short Street, andShort Street from 35th Street to Fairview <br /> Avenue, by the construction of a sewer and its necessary appurten- <br /> ances, the issuance of emergency warrants therefor and declaring <br /> an emergency. <br /> vHEREAS a public emergency other than those specifically <br /> declared in Section 6, Chapter 158, Laws of 1923, and which emergen- <br /> cy could not have reasonably been foreseen at the time of making <br /> the budget for the year 1929, requires the expenditure of money <br /> not provided in said budget, <br /> Now therefore, <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. That a public emergency exists which could not <br /> have reasonably been foreseen at the time of making the budget <br /> for the year 1929, and which emergency requires expenditures in <br /> the total estimated sum of 44470.00 over and above the amount <br /> provided for in said budget of 1929, and which estimated sum is <br /> required for the re-placement of the sewer on 25th Street from <br /> the manhole on the east property line of the Great Northern Right- <br /> of-'.Way to Nassau Street and Nassau Street from 25th Street to <br /> Everett Avenue by re-building manholes and doing all other work <br /> necessary to make a complete improvement, sach work being made <br /> necessary by re-son of the failure of the present sewer outfall, <br /> the estimated cost of such emergency work being 44120.00.
