November 1, 2023 <br />1 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., November 1, <br />2023, by President Stonecipher. <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Rhyne, Schwab, Zarlingo, <br />Stonecipher, and Tuohy were present. Council Member Fosse was excused, and Council Member <br />Vogeli was expected to be a few minutes late. <br />Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Zarlingo read the land acknowledgement. <br />Council Member Vogeli arrived at 6:34 p.m. <br />The minutes of the October 25, 2023, City Council meeting were approved. <br />MAYOR’S COMMENTS <br />Mayor Franklin stated cold weather shelters are open and last week the Washington Wolfpack <br />was announced as the new name of the arena football club. <br />Mayor Franklin introduced new Police Chief John DeRousse. <br />The City Clerk performed the oath of office and Mayor Franklin pinned Chief DeRousse with his <br />badge. <br />Chief DeRousse provided remarks to Council. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following members of the public spoke: Jeramy Olson, John Hollis, and Brandon Ediger. <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Council members congratulated Chief DeRousse. Council comments and liaison reports were <br />provided by council members.
