Benyam Stephanos
From: Paul McKee
Sent: Friday, August 26, 2016 4:57 PM
To: david.a.flake@gmail.com
Cc: Benyam Stephanos
Subject: 4729-View Dr.
Dave,
A-Thanks for your call today. The following comments are from Jane Zimmerman, our stormwater plan reviewer. I was under the impression that this info had
already been shared with you—if so, please forgive, but here it is again:
I just reviewed the geotechnical report more thoroughly and I don't see any way for Mr. Flake to meet its requirements without collecting all the stormwater
runoff from the driveway and garage in a catch basin and conveying the stormwater—in a pipe—to the ditch on the west side of Broadway. Section 4-2.5 in the
Design and Construction Standards and Specifications provides the design criteria for these types of system. Per the geotechnical report, the catch basin must
be set back 20'from the top of the slope, and the amount of disturbance within the 20' setback or on the slope itself must be minimized to the maximum extent
practical. In this case, that would mean that any trenching necessary to install the pipe in the slope setback or on the slope must be done by hand and
vegetation must be re-established promptly in accordance with the geotechnical report.
The plans should also note that compliance with BMP 12.20 is required for the post-development pervious areas that will be disturbed during construction.
Regarding his questions about the outfall pipe: you can refer him to Section 4 of the City's Design and Construction Standards and Specifications for
Development, particularly Section 4-2.5... Here's the link to the on-line DCSS: https://everettwa.gov/DocumentCenter/View/243
lease share this with your design consultants. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Paul McKee
Permit Services Manager
City of Everett
3200 Cedar Street
Everett, WA 98201
425-257-8867p
425-257-8857f
1
